How to upload files on Codex

If you want to translate content that's in a file, Wezen allows you to do that by uploading said files using Codex.

To import files on Codex, you must first choose the repository in which you want to store the files. You can create folders inside your repository using, to build a structure that can allow you to easily navigate inside your repositories. For that, you can see where you are inside the repository at all times in the Bread Crumb bar. If you want to upload a file inside a folder, click on the folder name. This will take you inside the folder.

Note that the maximum file size is 50MB, and uploading larger files will not be possible.

Here you can see that we hare inside the Folder 1 that is inside the repository called Codex Repository 1.

The next step is to click on the upload icon and select the characteristics of the file you want to import. You can either click on the dedicated area or drag and drop a file there to upload it.

After having selected your file, you must choose a source language and one or more target languages.

You can also choose here whether you want to use the front selector or use automatic extraction via scripts (select Manual Interface, and also add manually some context to your files that will be displayed in the studio.

How to manually add some context to the imported files?

By clicking on ADD GENERAL CONTEXT you can manually add some context to all the files that are being imported this one time. If you want to add specific context to single files, you can do so by clicking on the file and then adding the context.

The 2 types of extraction on Codex

During the upload of your file, you should have chosen whether you wanted it to be imported via script or via the manual interface, also called front selector.

  • If you have selected the first way, your file will be imported into tasks in the following minutes. You can find some more information about Codex profiles here.

  • But if you have selected the manual interface, you will need to select the content to be sent to translation manually via the front selector. You will find anything you need to know about this method here.

Note that once a script is enabled on the current folder, you must check the manual interface checkbox in order to be able to use it. If you don't, the script will automatically be used for the extraction.

Once you've sent your file to localization, your document’s status must be “Localization in progress”, which means that it is being translated.
