Once a translation memory is set up, you can access its widget within the studio. It can for example be used to search in the memory, to insert directly in the selected segment, to save a translation into the memory, etc.

Access the Memory widget

As well as the other widgets, the memory is available on the right side of the studio and accessible by clicking the button

You can also move it to the bottom of the screen by dragging and dropping it with the corresponding handle.

Features

With the widget open, when you select a segment, you can see appear in the widget the different translations present in the memory. You can then compare their percentage of match and their status.

In this screenshot, you can see two translations, one with a percentage of match of 100% and another one with a percentage of 99%. Moreover, if you hover one of the source segments you will see a colored dot corresponding to the status of this segment: Translated, ApprovedTranslation, ApprovedSignOff.

On each memory you will also have context icons displaying whether this translation has already been used with the same previous or following segments:

  • This suggestion has not been used in another translation task with the same previous and following source segments

  • This suggestion has already been used in another translation task with the same following source segment

Search in memory

Within the widget, you can search a translation in the memory, in the source or in the target language. This can help you compare the translations in order to deliver the best one.

Insert a memory in the current segment

You can insert a translation from the memory in the selected segment by clicking on. This will replace the current content of the segment.

Add a new segment to the TM

Clicking on will allow you to add a custom segment in the memory.

You can enter in this popup the source content, the translation, and some comments. The languages will be the ones of the task.
